Just watched this horror science fiction film and I enjoyed it so much. Hopefully, it is the first of many first time watches of other similar films though sadly many are hard to come by.

  2. How scary are Relic and The Beach House for someone who had trouble sleeping after watching Hereditary?

Hereditary is on a different level compared to The Beach House. It's a lil spooky but I think you'll be fine.

Okay so along with The Beach House, I also checked out The House That Jack Built. Sorry if it's already been discussed, I always lose track of this thread. Anyway, I think I really enjoyed it and have been thinking about it for the past 2 days.

  8. Also watched The House That Jack Built last night. Don't want to praise Von Trier, but...it's really fucking good.

Going to fire up The Beach House soon.

RIP Anton. Fright Night remake was a ton of fun.

I’ll be checking out The Beach House this weekend. Getting too much love in this thread to miss it.

I feel this on a real level. Entirely unexpected, but at about the halfway point I knew I was watching something that I was going to love and find thought-provoking.

Scare Package had so many good one liners. Laughed out loud a lot.

I also liked Fright Night, was kind of campy to me, but, I still liked the movie

I watched The Exorcist for the first time last night and didn't think much of it.

What quality did you watch it in? Just curious because I feel like a majority of older movies just do not look good on 1080p, 4K, or evening HD. Special Effects and CGI never always look worse and in my opinion - can have a negative impact on viewing experience. For Example, I was watching Killer Klowns From Outer Space the other day and a lot of the effects looked way more obvious then they ever used to when watching that movie growing up.

It feels impossible to recreate those settings from the era, but I would much rather watch movies the way they were released at that time. When I use to torrent movies I would download DVD rips of those kind of movies.

I've never seen the entirety of The Exorcist. Gonna try to fix that this week.

Scare Package was a lot of fun. I'm a sucker for meta-horror and I loved the over the top gore.

they have the directors cut blue-ray for like $8 at Best Buy, if you're interested. I bought it and thought the effects looked great

just commented on this above, but the blue ray from best buy looks great imo. I have a 65 smart tv and usually it makes movies and shows look like you're on set which has definitely ruined many older movies for me. I still thought the exorcist looked awesome and solidified it as one of my favorite movies

edit: the spider scene was especially terrifying

i think the steelbook is only like $15, if you're into collecting. Either way, let us know what you think!
