I was hoping to go a week Oasis-free.

 

I remember thinking the trailer was kinda funny, but not funny enough to actually watch a full movie of it. I did later find out that it was directed by Marjane Satrapi, the wonderful French-Iranian cartoonist who made Persepolis, which is just weird enough a bit of trivia that I almost do wanna see it, lol.

 

Gotta be honest I’m not sure Mark David Chapman is on initials only level like FDR or JFK. Had to look this one up.

There is a big societal problem with people using abbreviations that require looking up. Instead of saving time, it takes more time.

Agreed. It's based off of commonly used phrases or common knowledge, right? So if suddenly I think the game Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Are Ciel should be ATQ:KOAC and expect people to know what I'm talking about, that's just odd. It's the same with indie movies or lesser known properties.

If it isn't in the mainstream or general conversation, I'd have no idea what's being talked about.
