Because they needed a thread. Discuss how excellent they are and their discography is.

Also The Money Pit rules too.

There was a time when I thought Volcano would go down as the best album in history

the podcast about that was really cool, "The Giant's Drink" is arguably my favorite GAD track and I can't believe it was an afterthought

These guys' instrumentation is seriously so amazing, so much technicality and yet so catchy.

The Giant's Drink is such a great song that I had to keep replaying it before I moved on to the rest of the album haha

Wish they'd come back. Such a tease a few years ago.

The Guilt Engine is probably my favorite track and Volcano is my favorite.

The Money Pit would probably be #2 on my list!

Happy 10 years to the self titled. Seriously underrated.

I use to brazenly proclaim this as my favorite band, but it's honestly been quite a while since I've listened to them. They'll always hold such a special place in my heart, and 14 year old me would actually freak the fuck out that I'm friends with Bobby and Nic now.

Now if you'll excuse me I have 3 amazing albums and an amazing EP to listen to

I think it was actually a couple days ago? It was definitely sometime this week.

But yeah awesome band I was so hoping they'd blow up the way MCR did since they've always been kind of similar but I guess GAD will always be a cult classic band

Idk, I feel like gad never really coulda had the crossover appeal. Where's the fuckin chorus, man? Shame. They're the best

Yeah that's their biggest issue was being so....weird and angular. They took their biggest influences, The Cure, The Smiths, stuff like that, and made these dynamic, unorthodox rock songs with angular guitars and no chorus but still just as catchy as any Taking Back Sunday or My Chemical Romance single. It seems like they both reached for the mainstream and also rejected it.

Well put. It was a weird space of this "this is catchy, but it absolutely shouldn't be." Did seem like the s/t got a lot more pop friendly tho, not necessarily at the loss of their weirder side, but it made for a cool mix. Glad TMP seems to be a pretty nice follow up to that sound

Love the self-titled, but I think it drags a little bit by the end
