I have the fury of my own momentum.

    I did not, thanks.

Probably not enough off to swing a purchase for me. Guess my Lowborn vinyl will have to do.

I ordered. Sadly I don't think I'm one of the first 200 with a chance at getting the Stranger Ways 7" as a free item lol.

The designer for the box mentioned this over on vinyl collective:

"Hey Guys - Jordan here. I designed the Anberlin boxset. Just wanted to let you know no corners were cut here. They do in fact come in sleeves and jackets. The jackets are single jackets on uncoated stock, with a diecut hole that reveals a gloss metellic gold sleeve inside. Both are very thick stock with black ink inside. No expense was spared, and no surface went unprinted with a super tight attention to detail. This thing is VERY heavy. You'll dig it if you're a collector. "

Really hoping Lowborn sounds better now since they've all been remastered.

Same. I think we are screwed though. Seems like this boxset is pretty set in stone as the only represses of these albums. Ugh.

They've basically only mentioned the boxset when referring to the possibility of new presses over the last two years. And from what I've heard from those closer to the band, there are no plans, for now at least, for anything else aside from the box set. Especially considering they don't actually own any of their back catalogue.

Maybe they only say that because it's the only thing they know of for sure. I would be surprised if none of their records ever got pressed again... and I hope I'm right. Lol

i’ve been meaning to tell you

I ordered the box set, so I'd probably be willing to part with my original presses of cities, dark, vital, and lowborn. I'm no variant collector haha

I'm generally the same for most bands. As long as I have a good copy of an album I really want, I'm set. Unless it's Anberlin, RX Bandits and Less Than Jake. Anberlin and RXB thankfully have essentially nothing on vinyl. Just one press/variant of most things haha. LTJ on the other hand...

Oof, yeah that would get expensive quickly! How complete is your LTJ collection?

More complete than my wallet would like to admit haha. Strictly LTJ releases and split records, I have 181 out of approximately 272 releases/variants. Including compilations (stuff like all the Fat Wreck Comps), I have 15 out of about 37 releases/variants.

Any one else looking to snag individual records, keep an eye out on the sales section on vinyl collective as I'm sure plenty of people are about to do the same. Will prob have a better chance of getting a deal here or on VC as opposed to Discogs or eBay lol.

Tooth & Nail confuses me. They've pressed every album this year except for Anchor & Braille's, and at this point, Stephen Christian is the biggest name they have, (well, and Aaron Gillespie). There was even that petition for Anchor & Braille vinyl.

As I listen to new surrender again, I still like it more than most people seem to, but man this thing flows so poorly, especially the very first couple songs

Agreed. The order of the songs just... I don't know. Clunky? Would that work to describe it?

I've been toying with this idea for years, but couldn't bring myself to fully commit to the idea for sentimental reasons, but I think that Anberlin's best release is Devotion. I listened to it on shuffle this morning on my jog, and my goodness what an outstanding collection of songs. No matter how you slice it. Original Vital track listing, track listing with extra songs, extra songs on their own. No matter what.

    It's just their best work.

I've said for a while I think it's their best album but Cities is still my favorite.

I think it's their best and also my favorite at this point.

But I guess it's all moot because I love them all. (Well I only "like" a couple)

What I'm trying to say is you guys should throw on Devotion today. It's great.

I absolutely agree, actually. Other Side is one of my all time favorites, but that entire album is just perfection. Probably my favorite sound from them overall.

You must fix your heart Supporter

I still don't really like any of the extra Devotion tracks and I don't love Vital as much as I did when it was released. Cities on the other hand just gets better with time. I think at this point it's so easily their best for me. NTFP is an easy second place and even that's pretty far off.

I like their whole discography a lot too, but yeah, Cities is the only album of theirs I don't find myself skipping around in.
