Not that big of a Dashboard fan but I’ll 100% throw down on the unplugged vinyl.

 

Vinyl Me Please is doing a 1000 variant of the Dashboard record as well. If anyone missed out. I think theirs is that blue and yellow swirl.

I think I've spent more money on vinyl in the last 2 weeks than I did all of 2019. And I know I'm not done for the year yet

Has anyone seen non-colored, just plain 'ol black variants of these yet?

 

Same but with no live events for me here in CA.......

 

Yeah I’ve bought a ton of vinyl this year whereas this time last year I think it may have been only 1 or 2. Probably because I typically celebrate my favorite albums of the year by seeing them live, and now I have to buy my favorite records on vinyl to make up for it

 

The Instagram post from DC showed a black variant. I think you can choose that option when buying from your local.

 

Excellent! Not to sound like a total grump, but I've had so many bad sounding color pressings, I'd rather get the best sounding version.

I’ve never had an issue with color. Glow in the dark seems to be a problem. I’ve usually just had issues with poor pressings in general for contemporary acts. Doesn’t seem to be much care that goes into getting the best sounding product.

I'll definitely agree with poor pressings in general for contemporary acts. I've found the colored variants seem to be more prone to warping during production / storage / shipping. (As a side note, I've pretty much given up on buying from Amazon because of warping. I swear they must store vinyl next to a furnace in their warehouses or something!)

Off-centered pressings seem to be more pervasive lately; which in some ways is way worse than warping!

 

Crazy because I hear about off center pressings a lot but haven’t encountered one that was noticeable at least (knock on wood). Warping on the other hand seems to be an industry wide problem. VMP (who I get a lot of stuff from was bad for while, but lately it’s been pretty good).
