lol i haven’t gotten in on the max yet. seems pretty inessential and the way they rolled the app out annoyed me enough not to grab it

 

Studio Ghibli and the old Godzilla movies on top of all the HBO content really make it a clutch addition for me.

 

I haven't had any problems using HBO Max on my phone. I'm guessing y'all are referring to the other methods re: usability?

 

Hbo max is great and a million times better than the older ones.

 

Still blows my mind how bad the prime interface is.

Also looks like Disney+ had an app update on my tv so it's a little better and a little more like netflix

 

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the Netflix update?

specifically on the ps4 app but idk if it’s the same on other versions

all it really changed was how it looks when you’re “hovering” on something/have it selected

How bad is the hbo max UI that people rank it below Disney+ lol Disney+ is awful to use

 

criterion’s “app” (or lack thereof) is pretty unusable. i’m glad it seems Max got a good amount of the collection. i should really get Max, i guess. we already have Go

 

Criterion Channel is the only reason I use Roku, but I haven’t had any issues with the app. I do mostly use the website on a computer though.

 

There's a serious lack of Quibi on the top of these lists.

 

You still use that?

 

Criterion's layout definitely is the worst. There's nearly no rhyme or reason to their interface. Some categories are organized by director, others are by general mood--some movies can't be found in any category without searching for it. It's a mess.

That would be my list for content right now, only including ones that I currently have use of. Not sure where I’d rank something like Shudder which was fun but didn’t interest me enough to keep. And I have no idea where to put HBO Max since the content is great but it’s totally unusable for me currently. If they get a Roku app I bet it would jump up to the top five pretty easily.

Lol, you know how disappointed I’ve been with that service! Even those can’t hold me once my free year runs out. Especially since they’re missing the amazing non-DCOMs we were just talking about. I wish I could get Smart Guy and So Weird physically too to keep being able to throw those on.

 

I probably use Disney plus the most since I have a two year old. It's great if you have kids.

I don’t know if I can rank every UI, but I know Prime and Hulu fight for the worst slot. The inability to scroll by page on Prime is the single most annoying feature of any streaming platform, but Hulu overall is such a mess with the layout and losing my place constantly that it makes a good argument for being worse. BritBox is also a surprise contender because for some reason that never ever remembers what episode I’m on and getting to the show pages to find the right episode is a huge hassle. The actual browsing and playback features are ok though.

 

When I signed up for Criterion I literally went through their "all films" list and added everything that interested me to my list, and now I browse the "leaving at the end of the month" section too and keep up with what's being added. I like the way films are curated there.

Prime's interface drives me crazy and is a large part of why I rarely use it.

 

Hard for me to say how much I like the standard Prime because my dad pays for a lot of channels lol and I don't pay attention
