their experimentation on SOTSOG is pretty remarkable. it’s essentially their screamadelica with, admittedly, some worse songs and some muscled up riffs. a few of their absolute best tunes too (fuckin in the bushes, gas panic, put yer money..., i can see a liar). it rules

my “least favorite” is probably heathen chemistry and i still like it more than some of my favorite albums by other bands, and at times, it’s been a top three one of theirs for me. they’re (prepares for hate) kinda like radiohead in the sense that pretty much any ranking of their albums is sensible

Guess I need to start listening to Oasis. I remember loving Falling Down, and I might have heard the final album at the time. It's been too long so I'm not certain, but yeah I was obsessed with that song at one point.

 

that song rules but I wouldn't say it's an accurate representation of their sound. start at the beginning, you gotta quit missing out

 

"Don't Go Away" is the best Oasis song.

 

My favorite Oasis song is like a five-way tie of songs on Morning Glory. Love that album so much.

but shouts to Chris, don't go away is a huge tune. the OG noel demo is great too. think it would have worked in that key a bit better.

 

Oasis were my first favourite band when I was a kid. Morning Glory was the first album I ever had I think. Everything I read about Be Here Now these days is always about how it's so overblown and the result of being coked up or whatever and even Noel doesn't like it but as an 11 or 12 year old at the time it came out I loved it haha. I Hope I Think I Know still rips.

"Don't Look Back in Anger" tends to be my go-to favorite these days, but it was "Hello" for a long time, and also "Champagne Supernova" for a long time. "Stand By Me" is up there too.

 

I find the drums on Don't Look Back In Anger really grating.

 

Oasis is a good band.
