this probs sounds dumb but getting into music written by someone who's dead really upsets me, to the point where i sometimes actively avoid listening to dead artists that are new to me even when it probably means missing out on great music. just a random musing. i don't think i'd know what to do with myself if one of my favorite songwriters died.

got into sparklehorse this month and have been listening to vivadixie a lot. it's a brilliant brilliant album but i always get bummed out when i listen to it.

 

i definitely feel that.

 

I think about this a lot. Jeff Buckley and Elliott Smith are two of my all time favorites and I have a hard time going back to them often because of all the added weight of their very untimely deaths. The upshot is that they left us with beautiful music.

But yeah, if one of my favorites right now died...I would definitely be inconsolable.

 

elliot smith was who i was thinking about definitely. so hard to listen to now, quite upsetting.

 

I forgot I set my morning alarm name as "Good Morning Fire Eater". That made me chuckle. Clever stuff, me from yesterday.

 

Elliott Smith is my all time favourite artist. I'm actually glad I got into his music after he died cause I don't think I could've taken it.

 

If you haven't yet, you definitely need to watch Roar. It's an experience.

 

Little Man, the Wayans Brothers' film is without doubt the worst film I've ever seen. I watched it when it came out in 2006, and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. It affected me far more profoundly and deeply than 99% of "quality" films that I've seen. It's awful in ways I didn't think were possible.

 

I do this with my friends as well. Every week we get together and everyone brings the worst film they can find along with them. The last film we watched was "The Black Gestapo"...

 

i watched my big fat greek wedding on hbo go and it's p good

 

I don't see my friends often for obvious reasons so when I do see them we're either just catching up or working on something together

 

going to charleston for a friends wedding this weekend, gonna be a blast. also my girlfriend's bday on monday, so it'll be nice to do all that stuff there

 

Happy early birthday to her! Hope it's a good one.

 

About to go into a deposition for my custody case. I'm not the one being questioned, but I'm soooo nervous
