Finished episode 4. Easily the most frustrating for me so far. Infuriating that it’s clear as day that so many people at that party/in that town know what happened and nobody will speak out about it.

Fuck his shitty friends for leaving him there.

    Fuck racists, too.

It’s a blog post about the situation but the comment thread is a DOOZY it’s seemingly a bunch of locals and family members

The comment dates extend basically to around the time of the disappearance to now, and appears to include comments from the people who drove him there and people who were at the party interacting with Alonzo’s family members. It’s very frustrating because of the anonymity of most commenters and I can’t imagine how difficult it would be for the family to read all these people saying they know what happened but it’s also pretty fascinating from an internet sleuth point of view

Finished the UFO episode just now. I do believe something happened to those people that night, but it’s super frustrating knowing we’ll almost certainly never learn anything more about it.

I just felt that the stories seemed pretty inconsistent between each person at times, and my eyes were rolling at the guy saying he recognized seeing that woman on the ship but she has no memory of seeing him. Just felt like a bunch of gullible people feeding off each other's paranoia. I feel like a few people had different descriptions of the ship, too.

Idk! It's interesting, but just felt like a totally different show and almost made me take the rest of the show less seriously heh

It’s hard to believe they’re all lying about something they saw on the same night.
I thought the consistencies of the objects making no noise was interesting.

Is it really though, when it was prompted by a local radio station? You don't think something similar would happen with other conspiracy theories if a radio host were to lead them to it and give a date?

Also do you remember the old show? The paranormal mysteries were some of the most memorable ones and were a staple of the show. It would usually be 3 or 4 mysteries with one being a little out there.

Then I could definitely see how it would look out of place haha. I loved the old show growing up so I was happy to see they kept a random paranormal mystery.

I’m really not sure, it seemed like they had all told those stories for a long time and some had family or close acquaintances there to corroborate it.

Yeah, I will admit that the family in their car was a headscratcher for me. I'm just cynical as fuck and need some solid evidence to really be swayed by something like this lol

Maybe it could have been some kind of MK-Ultra kinda shit with the CIA randomly giving people hallucinogens? Who knows. I think that went on from the 50s to 70s?

Definitely the first thing I thought when they said they said it on the radio was “all kinds of crazy people and opportunists will be jumping on this”
But at the same time how else do you get an understanding of just how many people had an experience?

idk man. Maybe one or two of them was making up or exaggerating but i can’t help but want to believe it haha

Episode 3 was the best and by that I mean so fucked up

Hahaha ngl, the second I hit "reply" I realized the irony of it after making fun of conspiracy theories :crylaugh:.

But I mean, at least it was something that was proven to have happened in the country back then, and to me is (a little) more plausible for people to hallucinate and misconstrue some bright lights than the plausibility of actual aliens. I don't truly have a belief on what really went down either way though, definitely a mystery

I hadn’t thought about the timeframe and mk ultra but that actually might be a better theory than aliens the more I think about it. And a radio host could trigger those trips.

Like it would explain, with the aid of suggestive radio, people seeing lights and misconstruing them

but certainly doesn’t explain most of the other stuff

  24. RyanPm40

I mean, from what I can gather, the most of what people seemed to "hallucinate" were seeing bright lights, feeling frozen in place, and losing track of a couple of hours of time. The rest can just be fueled by paranoia and confused memories while they're trying to rationalize whatever unexplainable event happened to them

Did anyone flat out say they saw an actual alien creature prodding at them? Maybe I got too high to remember lol

multiple people explained being taken onto the ship though. Like yeah those could have been lies of course haha but that’s the only explanation for that within the theory of mk ultra

And hmm...maybe. Idk. If you’re tripping time does go by quickly but it’s not like you “don’t know where it went” you don’t suddenly snap to and not know how you got there. Not rly how hallucinogens work imo?
