I do think the episodes could've gone more in depth. Like maybe the police did investigate certain leads and they just didn't mention it, but then that leaves a lot of questions and feels like nobody even tried to solve it. Tho I guess that's a theme: law enforcement saying it's suicide so they don't rly investigate homicide that closely and family/friends have to do it

I will say that recent unsolved mysteries always freak me out the most. Like it's easy to read old ones and assume it's unsolved cause of the time since there was less DNA evidence or CCTV or whatever. It's just hard to fathom someone going missing these days with all the technology available to us.

Exactly why I think Delphi would be a good subject. The killer’s voice is heard and he’s on camera, but no arrest has been made.

Wow rough to read. Deff gave more questions and yeah made it more infuriating that people appear to know things and if what they’re saying is true then others are straight up bragging about it and it still is getting ignored. That’s wild to me

also maybe I wasn’t paying attention during unsolved mysteries but the story about the ride home they give is different than that blog.
Which kind of aligns with the comment from the aunt talking about how the guy who drove him had a different story every time and she didn’t trust him. He did seem like he was lying on the show.
I don’t know what to think I guess

Ultimately I also can’t get over there being no cause of death. Like what? 22 yr olds don’t just die, wouldn’t there have to be SOMETHING showing what happened?!

Yeah the medical examiner would be a great politician. He spoke a lot and gave zero opinions. Saying the body could be consistent with being in the creek for a month but it also could not be??? What about the papers on him that weren’t even wet or damaged? For me there also just has to be a better timeline available. There were around 100 people at the the party so we should be able to account for more of the night than just what the people who left the party early saw. There was really so much to this one, I can’t get over this third driver being brought up but there’s never any discussion of why this driver also didn’t give him a ride home.

Yeah for real! All of that
Although that blog said the 2nd person who was supposed to bring him home got in an accident when getting cigarettes. If that’s true then that’s a valid reason to not have picked up your friend but what about the rest of the people he knew/came with??? We’re they all gone at that point and that dude went to get cigarettes by himself and left Alonzo there by HIMSELF? That doesn’t make much sense to me

ultimately yeah it’s just infuriating bc you know people know things and there should have been so much more investigating done

who's to say the people at the party didn't basically force his friends to leave

could have all been planned out too. and with that, there's the possibility of his friends being in on it

Idk if I’d believe anything was planned out.

Who knew they were coming and what would the motive be other than he was black? I get that in the south (or anywhere) that can be enough, but at that age? Idk. They were from 45 minutes away and I’m assuming only a few knew that a black guy was one of the kids coming from out of town. And if they planned ahead of time to kill him that’s just a bit too bizarre for me to wrap my head around for some 20-something country kids who just wanted to get drunk that night

not attacking you personally! I just don’t see it

Every time I see polygraphs in these types of shows or hear people mention them I cringe, they’re not reliable.

just exploring possibilities. I don't think it was planned either

Even the house where the party occurred had all this mystery to it that makes no sense. I mean come on at least track down who threw the party, who was invited, how were they invited, when did you notice the only black guy at the party had left etc.
I think I remember one of the friends saying there were 16 year olds at the party...but weren’t those guys 23?? What the hell was this party and why do you suddenly not know anyone?

this always baffles me too. Like, people back on the day got caught because “Susie was out feeding the chickens and saw a window open two houses down that seemed suspicious so she told the police and they found a body while the house on the other side saw someone leave at 3 am after delivery fresh cow milk to their neighbors who were sick that day” lol wtf crime people seemed to have baaaad luck back in the day

for real! And I know right I thought the same thing. But also it’s a small town and several comments on that link you shared say there were GROWN ASS men who still partied at high school parties and honestly from what I’ve seen of small towns and rednecks that’s the least surprising part

I think too that I've been so spoiled with podcast episodes of Unsolved mysteries and like long-form articles that it definitely seemed like they didn't go in depth at all in the episodes. Def still enjoyed the series tho

I don’t know if this was mentioned here or I read it somewhere else, but I saw someone say that Rob (episode 2) changing the locks so quickly after Patrice’s abduction seems to indicate that he knew she was already dead. He knew he’d never have to deal with the repercussions of locking Pistol out like that. I don’t buy his excuse that he was concerned for his safety one bit, and I don’t think he’d have done something so drastic if he believed Patrice was going to turn up the next day and chastise him for it.

I need a 4 hour follow up each on at least 3 of these cases by some investigative documentary filmmakers. Make it happen Netflix!

saw an "article" about the note found in the first episode referencing a "game" and then something about the movie The Game being in the list of movies on the note. apparently jumping from a roof into glass is a part of that movie.

This is what Wikipedia says about the film, The Game.

the guy was a banker right? And he was best friends with that guy who got him the job for a long time. Fuck, maybe they even say in the episode the cliche line of “being like brothers” for all I know.

seems too on the nose but who knows. I haven’t watched the movie in a looong time. Would be curious to watch it again and then watch and research the story again.
