I was thinking about this tweet the other day as I cut up some rings haha

 

Just curious, cause admittedly I haven't done a whole lot of research into the situation there, but what would a good statement from a politician look like? I know there was certainly concern over whether the election was actually fairly conducted

 

True that and I don't even know where I obtained that knowledge in the first place. BUT, I will never get this image out of my head:

 

Some concern stoked by noecons doesn’t justify declaring the election rigged and promoting instability in a nation that we’ve actively threatened and exploited.
We’ve arguably had more issues with elections here recently than what’s been found in that election. It’s imperialist rhetoric and it’s dangerous

 

only thing i need to hear from american politicians on venezuela is wholesale condemnation of our grotesque sanctions

 

The Venezuelan opposition refused to participate in the election so they could call it illegitimate.

 

Or you just pull em apart with your hands if you’re strong (not to brag)

 

Fucking heartbreaking and just so upsetting to read the article and see what he went through during his hospitalization.

I do wonder why he needed a leg amputated during his stay.

thread, it was so fucked up how it was like hey you need to wear a mask or else, where do you get one that's on you

 

without looking at the thread it’s obvious the American government never cared about our health if we don’t have universal care

 

This I feel like could wind up being one of the most damming failures of the entire administration.

We could've spent the last four months greatly ramping up mask production so that everyone has access to super affordable, high quality masks. It would've been expensiveness, but a drop in the bucket when looking at the overall financial toll of this disaster. Then maybe these reopening pushes wouldn't be quite so disaserous.

Instead we just completely failed

 

It's because it became a political issue rather than a medical issue. The lack of a basic understanding of germ theory in this country combined with a hateful political agenda is the failure here. The thing about viruses is that they dont give a shit about your political opinions.

 

Bet you didn’t expect this though

maybe don’t try to come in and save the guy after he used the virus and deaths of thousands to argue in bad faith to stoke skepticism among his base
