The french one was too much filler. I kept expecting to find out there was more to it. It took almost an hour to tell us the only unsolved mystery is where the guy is right now and to give us the important leads about where he might be.

Do you guys think he ran away or killed him self? I honestly thought the latter bc if he was so broke how could he afford to start over somewhere? He’s gonna just get a minimum wage job? A counts son? Lol. Doubt

but Who knows he might have friends willing to help him idk. His friends takes were wild lol

He also was initially casually traveling away without precaution about his identity so it’s weird he suddenly would go off the grid so successfully

My ADHD and having to pay attention to subtitles do not pair well together so I skipped that French one immediately lol. That's the only reason I haven't watched Dark yet, either. Happy to hear it felt like filler I guess?

You don’t get off the hook that easy! It’s worth watching, but more importantly you are missing out on so much by avoiding subtitles!

I feel like with almost all of these stories (besides the UFO one) could / maybe have had insights into Google searches? Maybe the eps just don’t touch on it but I feel like cases have some success when reviewing what computer data shows.

did the French guy do any google searches for the part of the country he was last seen in? Was he researching other countries which may show where he was thinking of going? Did he research how to survive in the wilderness or other stuff? Sounds basic but I feel like I hear a lot of cases where someone had google searched some basic shit right before committing a crime or whatnot

I hope the internet gets to work on solving some of these. I really need some answers. A follow up episode next season?

Unsolved Mysteries used to do case updates but obviously rolling all episodes out at once makes that difficult. Hopefully if there’s another season there will be some updates.

Just finished episode 2, and I believe Rob paid/hired Jeremy Jones to abduct Patrice, and Rob kept her captive at the house (hence why he changed the locks immediately), before eventually killing her and dumping the body. Would explain why Jones knew about the location of the cars parked at the salon, but was wrong about where the body was dumped. He didn’t actually kill her, Rob did.

Is there any info out there to debunk that theory? Did the police search the house?

that is a very interesting thought. Only thing I can think to why that wouldn’t / shouldn’t work is that if Jeremy goes back to jail for something (highly likely based on his history) what would stop him from telling what happened to get a lower sentence? Like why would Rob trust him? Also with how obsessive Rob is I feel like he would want to do everything himself, but who knows. It is weird that Jeremy knew the layout of the cars in front of the salon.

also they never really talk about police investigating Rob other than Rob saying he knows husbands are always the first suspect. But the son definitely should’ve called the cops and told them he was locked out but that’s definitely hindsight and not sure how many teenagers are gonna think that way especially after their mom goes missing. But looking back it’s obviously cruel and suspicious as fuck.

Also not sure if they say how far their home is from the salon. Seems dangerous to abduct her and bring her home but I guess if police suck in the area than it’s not so dangerous. Would be really sad if she was in her own home at some point in time during all of that.

Episode 2 really hit me. Looked like a young mother, a close relationship, shit step father - my exact upbringing. Cannot imagine not being able to go back to my own house, collect my things or be able to have any of her possessions to remember her by.

Also the piano theme from Unsolved Mysteries used to scare the fuck outta me as a child and i'm proud to announce it no longer does (i'm lying).

I like the theory that she was in the house but I don’t think Jeremy Jones is needed. He may have convinced her to just come out to the house for something on her lunch break. Maybe they were arguing that morning, it would explain why her customers were saying she was in a bad mood. Still doesn’t explain the blue car spotted there though.
Also doesn’t explain the cash register.

i wonder if the cash register was emptied just to try and throw the investigation off, even if just for a bit?

like, if you see a register with no money in it the first thought is probably "stranger robbing the place" not "husband who she was starting to dislike".

separate episode - but for the last one i was really surprised / enjoyed the relationship the kids had with their step-father (the one before Gary, the brother of Gary, although they definitely liked Gary as well). usually it seems like step-parents are forever fighting an uphill battle, but the kids (at least the two of the 6 in the interview) really seemed to love and respect both of them. really sucks how those relationships ended how they're forever linked.

The Alonzo Brooks case... they couldn’t interview a single person who remained at the party after his friends left? Surely those people are known. What happened with the guy who was supposed to drive him home?

Yeah I am very curious why the show gave no follow-up to the friend-of-a-friend who was supposed to drive him.

I feel really bad for his friends, too. Hard not to beat yourself up about leaving him there, but I'm sure the possibility of what ended up happening never crossed their minds.

Ok on the last episode if that story is told accurately it is seriously easy is to get away with murder. There’s a taped confession basically (that is admissible under declarant unavailable rules exceptions to hearsay) and one of the kids is saying she saw the guy’s dead body being taken away with his freaking boots on!

I also did really enjoy the ufo episode I don’t even care. It was a good week to watch The Vast of Night and see that story.

Just finished episode 3. Not as compelling as the first two. Not because of the subtitles or anything, but because (as someone mentioned earlier) it seems blatantly obvious who committed the murders, and the motive suggested in the episode does seem fairly clear.

I’m torn on whether I think he killed himself or is in hiding, but I’m leaning toward the latter.

The most bizarre part of the whole story to me is the complete lack of blood or physical evidence of any kind. Seems insane to me you could shoot four children, your wife, and two dogs and not leave a single drop of blood anywhere, no matter what kind of extensive cleaning process you went through after the fact.

Also, another thought on episode 2. Not sure if anyone has brought this up yet, but it’s awfully convenient that Patrice’s abduction took place during the window of time of a cancelled appointment. I assume the police investigated who made that appointment and subsequently canceled it, leaving her alone at the salon when she otherwise would have been with a client, but it does make me wonder if it was deliberately canceled. Something to think about.

If they do a season 2, I hope they do one on the Delphi murders. Maybe it’s not the right kind of thing. There is a prevailing theory that the cops know who did it, but don’t have enough evidence to arrest and are waiting for someone to trip up. But it’s seriously creepy- especially since it’s likely someone from the town.
