She actually has done pretty well up until this point, it’s only the really loud ones that practically shake the house that wake her (which would wake anybody). But tonight those have gone off nearby like every 20 minutes since 8. Edit: every 2 minutes since it got dark

Yeah I assumed it was gonna be bad this year with so many of the big shows being cancelled. Lot more people setting them off on their own this year.

It’s insane. Literally coming from all sides directions of the neighborhood with just constant booms. I saw a cop driving around the area before but guarantee no one was given a warning or ticket. They don’t give a shit

My dog is terrified of fireworks, luckily she is starting to calm down now. Not before trying to dig through a closet and then peeing in the house though

Around me it’s these middle to lower middle class wannabe rednecks so the cops don’t do anything even if you call in a late night nuisance complaint because these are the same people who have blue lives matter signs in their yard. This has been going on all late spring and summer (although not to this degree) and the response at council meetings is that they have to pass a special ordinance. Like how does this not fit the nuisance ordinance?

That's annoying. I've heard the mayors around here are telling the cops to just ignore firework complaints. I really can't believe how many people have the big fireworks when they aren't even legal. You can only buy the sparklers and ground based fireworks in the state. Those are fine but when people start blowing off the full fledged fireworks it's just super annoying and I wish the cops something would be done about that since you know, it's literally illegal lol

They’re dangerous too! I am not looking forward to reading about fireworks injuries after this weekend. Pumping exponentially more fireworks into drunk people’s hands is a horrible idea even putting aside the ridiculous nuisance

(Apologies in advance for yet another fireworks-related rant post)
So, at one point in my life (maybe when I was 8 or 9 or something), I really enjoyed fireworks and always looked forward to the 4th of July. Then, as I both actually learned about American history and became less amused by big boom-y things, I found them somewhat annoying but not that objectionable. After this year, I never want to hear or see another firework for the rest of my life and now consider them among the most obnoxious annoyances. I mean, one night a year is no big deal... buy it's been 3+ weeks of nonstop fireworks every night! I have my ridiculously loud air conditioner (it's pretty ancient and may explode any day now, but it's amazing at blocking out the noise of my neighborhood) on and still nothing can drown this out. Just hoping that it begins to die down in the next hour or so but, considering we've had some 2 AM firework shows here the last few nights, I anticipate a sleepless night. How the hell has the entire world not run out of fireworks yet?!!?!?!
(Rant over and catharsis somewhat achieved)

Not going to lie, I can definitely still appreciate a good fireworks show, as in professionally and safely done. But it’s insane that they are as easy to obtain by the general public as they are.

Yeah I mean, professional firework shows are fine I guess(though in recent year I have found them less enjoyable probably cause I've seen them so many times throughout my life). But these people in neighborhoods blowing them off all over the place, at unreasonable hours, and with the potential to injure them self or others, is stupid.

You know they are far too easy to obtain when even in a state they aren't legal have every other household blasting them off tonight.
