Haven’t visited in a while. Current situations in the world kinda have made me not listen to a lot of things I normally would idk

I know someone already said this, but The Birthday Party (especially the outro) sounds so good on vinyl

My mom got me the vinyl for my birthday this week and she got the white Urban Outfitters one, so I have the last three albums all unintentionally on white vinyl, which is cool

The fact that there’s been zero promotion since it dropped doesn’t help. Obviously we know the circumstances, but since they stopped dropping videos/can’t tour the album just kind of faded from thought.

  6. Completely random thought but does anyone remember that band that popped up for a half a second that basically ripped the Notes aesthetic off exactly? They had like social media and stuff, I just can't remember the name.

This album is cool. Not sure where it falls for me in ranking their albums but it's sprawling nature still remains exciting to me.

I’ve given it a break too. I know it’s my least favorite 1975 record. But it’s still great.

I haven't been listening to this all that much. Not sure if it's the album itself, or the fact that it came out during a time with a bunch of other amazing releases.
    Still has bangers, though.

Wonder what’s going on with them. I know they were supposed to be touring, but odd to have them completely quiet a month after the album is out. No more single pushes? Thought we’d get a “Tonight” video at least.

We did get a Tonight vid! Can’t find it, it was the one with the Teddy Bear thing

I love that moment when the pre-release singles finally fully blend in with the rest of the album and don’t sound out of place anymore. “The Birthday Party” is definitely an album highlight for me now.

I believe they have more “Exhibition” videos coming, but I think lack of promotion due to the current political and health climate is a thoughtful decision.

I totally didn't realize that they just completely stopped posting those art videos for every song, I hope they pick it back up soon

I have like half this album (which is an album’s worth of material, lol) on my current work playlist & am happy when one of those songs come up. It’s stylistically still my second favorite after A Brief Inquiry.

But, it’s also not in my top 5 albums of the year right now & isn't something I think or talk a lot about right now. Which I guess does feel a little weird.

Whatever, though. It gave me some new tunes I like hearing, so I’m alright with it not being the biggest release in my life or whatever, lol.

at this point I’m just waiting for time to tell whether this or ILIWYS reigns supreme for me. this is absolutely the album I hoped for from them tho, at this point in their careers

This album is fine for where they're at career wise. Personally I prefer the more poppier stuff, just think they do it better.

for me, it was the experimental side of the band that really hooked me. I mean, I def loved UGH! as a pre-release single and played the hell out of it, but the first album (at the time) was just decent for me. when I sat and listened to ILIWYS for the first time I definitely loved the first few tracks, but it wasn’t until If I Believe You onwards and that I was blown away and the album became pretty much an instant favorite for me.

that said, I think this album is pretty well-balanced between hooks and experimentation. I honestly feel like this album has some of their catchiest songs to date.

  21. It's comfortably third for me after ILIWYS and ABI. It's a great album among great albums

The interludes and length make this a weird one to listen to all the way through. But as individual songs this is their most re-playable album IMO.
