I mean, issue with name aside, there’s no other team/franchise that could use a full refresh and new start after the last 30 years, especially to go along with the team finally being run properly (fingers crossed that lasts). Surprise he didn’t see the money and praise he could’ve earned doing this awhile ago.

 

If they change their name, I’d be happy to watch them play purely to see Chase Young. And I am an Eagles fan.

Yeah, no idea, I always roll my eyes at that military stuff, but that seems to be his thing.

If they changed the name to Warriors, I’d be amused if only because I went to Wayne State University. Our team name was changed to the Warriors (aside: the team was terrible) in 1999. Why? Because they too had a racist name and mascot: The Tartars.

When they rebranded they gave the school a new mascot.

He is “W” the Wayne State Warrior.

If you ever asked “Yeah, but...what IS he?” then you would be told “...He’s a warrior.”

It became this running joke on campus that our mascot was this bizarre dragon turtle thing. One of a kind, that W.

The Red Tails name and logo are a really solid idea and design for what it’s worth. Works on multiple levels. I’m not much of a sports fan myself, but as soon as I saw that it grabbed my attention.
