Rico Dowdle is the only chance South Carolina has at being good at offense in the next few years.

They screwed up letting Kelly Bryant go to Clemson to backup DeShaun Watson.

 

That's not even remotely true. Ty'son Williams is already the best RB on the team and he has to sit out this season. And AJ Turner has been a standout so far in practice. Not to mention they have McIlwain and Bentley at QB and will have several weapons at receiver over the next years like Samuel, Edwards, Banks, Shi Smith, Hayden Hurst who has been a standout at TE so far this fall.

 

I coached Deebo. He's a great player, but he'll most likely be gone before someone can consistently get him the football.

The running game will make or break that team. Rico Dowdle is the best recruit they landed in 2016. I don't care what the rankings say. He was the best player at Shrine Bowl practices and the game. He can be special.

Their offense is awful and a lot of those kids you're mentioning haven't taken a snap in college yet. It's nice to be optimistic, but settle down.

 

Wait you're telling me not to be optimistic while you talk up Dowdle who hasn't taken a single snap in college let alone barely practiced? Also you said over the next few seasons... So when I add my two cents you change it to now?

I just think it's a little absurd to gas up a bunch of rising high school seniors and a 17 year old QB that almost certainly needs a redshirt year.

Rico Dowdle was the best player in the Carolinas in 2015. I just think he's very important for that future of that program.

You said over the next few years, dowdle is the only hope at having a good offense. I named players on the team currently and some other future players that could give the team a good offense. Following that, you said the kids I mentioned haven't taken a snap yet. I responded neither has Dowdle. My point was simply that the team does have some potential playmakers already on the roster and some that should be joining the team that would definitely boost the depth at the skill positions. I'm not sure why you took offense to that, especially when you said the next few years... Am I wrong to assume that Bentley and McIlwain could develop into good qbs over the next few years? That would go against everything I've read about them. I don't think we would disagree that the offense is crap this season...
