What a great song. I really hope this is the first single from the record.

 

Fuck yes that song is fantastic. Proper upbeat, I was cautiously excited after Rented World and the fact they were recording with Will Yip but now my hype train is full steam ahead

Also yeah pretty sure CWS is recording atm, they posted on facebook the other day asking "10 or 12 songs?"

he sounds like christian a little bit early on

that's pretty much the general direction all these punk bands go as time goes on haha

yeah that's what i thought too, yip didn't blow it this time!

 

he hasnt blown it in a while

 

I mean they've never really been a production focused band, it doesn't blow me away but it fits the song really well. The best part about this band has always been the songs. As long as it's not super compressed and everything is clear I'm happy.

 

My worry with yip is that he's always going to compress the sounds and make it sound like a pile of mud like that B&C album but he didn't so yay.

lots of yip's muddiness comes from the tones the bands bring to the table. not much he can do when bands are writing grunge-infused stuff that just screams mud regardless of who's working the boards

 

Solid song.

 

The vocals, particularly the harmonies, on this song are so good. And I pretty much immediately prefer the production on this to the production on RW, so thats nice.

 

simple producer trick:

"hey can we make this guitar tone less muddy on this take?"

 

a producers job is a lot more than just recording the band, that would be an engineer.
