Honestly that’s one film that never kind of clicked with me. I’m yet to watch Semi-Pro and Tallageda nights though

I remember it came out when I was in 10th grade and everyone loved it and wouldn’t stfu about it. Biology teacher was convinced to see it and he was like “wtf that was not funny”

To be fair, getting one of the passenger jets in the campaign is a pain in the ass

probably same, but it's been completely ruined for me by how much people quote it. I don't think i'd make it through in one sitting lol

yeah, i think it's mostly funny if you saw it while you were in HS or shortly after, because you can probably relate to the awkwardness of it all. If i watched superbad for the first time as a 32 year old I would guess I would not enjoy it at all lol

I also just do not like Will Ferrell in large doses. I am shocked i liked Anchorman as much as I did, because I just cannot put up with him in a main role lol

    I hated Talladega Nights
I thought Step Brothers was fine because the rest of the cast was so good

Couldn’t stand Step Brothers, but with Semi Pro (the one scene I’ve seen) was in hysterics at the “did you just call me a jive turkey?” moment. As a school kid. Idk if I’d like the entire film...especially now

wrap yourself in petals for armor.

I watched Dodgeball recently and thought it was still pretty funny. Of course none of those movies can escape sexism, racism, homophobia etc. to varying degrees depending on the movie.

It’s crazy how much older comedy movies depended on sexism/homophobia for jokes. Cut those out, you cut out like half the movie lol

    Oh god no

I watched Superbad last year and it was even worse than I remember. Totally reminded me that almost all the media I was consuming (because I was hanging out with a lot of guys) basically reinforced awkward guy comedy that makes like, touching or oggling boobs and stuff like that look okay because hahaha it's funny because they're so weird and pathetic!!! SO it's fine!!! AKA every guy I knew in hs who felt totally fine at making my body the brunt of jokes
