Just got out of my first improv class. I went in really nervous but had a good time. The only problem is, I keep recalling moments that I really screwed up and want to go back and keep practicing

 

It's motivation for the next class!

Listening to YMIW for the first time in a very long time. How is it possible that Pete still hasn't gotten any better at interviewing? He's as unbearable as ever it seems.

Alright, this is where it's happening now. Keep taking improv classes, everyone. I won a trophy for it tonight! So yeah, it all pays off.

 

Did improv in high school. We had a pretty established troupe, would do shows in front of decent crowds (50-75 people.) I miss it sometimes.

Don't think I could stand doing classes though.

 

Super excited for cbb today! The Thermals with Mike Hanford and Tim Kalpakis.

 

Man, as a lifelong fan of i4h, the improv is so much better on Magic Tavern. Granted, they're aiming for totally different things, but the MT guys are just so much more in control when it comes to narrative.

 

For real though this was always the best thread on AP and I'm glad it's carrying over y'all are dope

Mitch comparing himself to a chicken, in that they start out so adorable and wind up turning into hideous monsters, is so funny to me.

 

It's honestly amazing. I can't stop listening to it.

 

I've noticed this. Magic Tavern is much more consistent and coherent than i4h's shorter scenes. You might not know this answer, but as an improviser, what accounts for the difference? Does the fantasy in Magic Tavern lend itself to more leniency in building the world/characters?

 

As much as I love Doughboys, I think it might be time for a separate thread lol
