I went to see Marc Rebillet at a drive-in in Indianapolis last Tuesday and it was a lot of fun! The show itself was great and really unique, most people were decent about safety precautions, and the venue handled things really well. Regardless, I had a good time.

Does Thursday being on this take them out of the running for the MCR tour then?

Nope. The US MCR dates do not start until September 8.

Radius clauses are a thing though

Las Vegas is one city. The MCR tour is hitting many.

The Vegas date for the MCR tour happens one month from Psycho Las Vegas. Psycho was originally going to be mid-August 2020 with the MCR tour happening in October. The dates are now closer and the MCR tour is already sold out.

If Thursday is opening the MCR tour, I can see them being able to negotiate out of a radius clause. It's not going to hurt Psycho that Thursday is opening a sold out show a month later.

Also I'm sure that the venn diagram of people who would see Danzig/Mercyful Fate and people who would see MCR are basically two completely separate circles that barely touch, if at all.

It's crazy how big Billy Talent are in Europe.

Yeah, Billy Talent played Warped 2013 in Michigan. They played immediately after The Wonder Years, so I left because I was exhausted, but their crowds were pretty comparable in size.

I'm way more surprised that Volbeat is headlining over Korn, Deftones, FOB, and Weezer. Are they really that big overseas?

Arguably the biggest hard rock band overseas so not a surprise in the slightest.

Billy Talent are huge here in Canada (obviously), and it should be noted that they are excellent live.

I remember downloading a leaked copy of their first record a couple months before it came out and knew they were going to explode, at least here. When they finally dropped Try Honesty as the first single, it didn’t take long at all before they were a household name.

Fall Out Boy never headlined Rock im Park/Rock am Ring. They've always been the third band behind Linkin Park or whatever.

EDIT: Actually, this is their second time playing Rock im Park/Rock am Ring.

Was talking to a buddy of mine, that has booked in Philly before. He was saying there is a second phase to this who concert industry live music problem. He said when shows do start again, say 2021. Everyone is gonna try and tour, everyone! He said then you are giving people too many options with not enough cash flow. He said a lot of people are hurting and will only have so much entertainment spending. He said a lot of people will do well touring but his prediction is even more people will do awful! Some tours will just flat out bomb.

So true. Honestly, if I was a big band with a steady cash flow I would stay off the road in 2021. It’s going to be so over saturated when things resume.
