Honestly one of the all-times for me. A “rap” album hasn’t connected with me since, until RTJ4 came along this year, which has some similarities imo

 

It took Brockhampton releasing Iridescence for me to check out Big Fish Theory and man I’m happy I did. My friend said I’d love it if I liked Iridescence and he was absolutely right.

I was listening to Big Fish Theory the other day. It holds up. So damn good.

 

Three years removed from the hype I still think BFT has some of his best tracks, but Summertime ‘06 is still tops for me. Vince always comes through though and whatever he does next will probably be great too

 

Love Summertime ‘06 too but Big Fish Theory is short and to the point and I love that about it. FM! is great too, Vince is just the best.

 

BFT is one of the most forward thinking hip hop records in recent memory, at least from a production standpoint. He pulled in some unexpected collaborators (SOPHIE!!!) and made a record that toes the line of hip hop and dance music in a way that feels distinctly his own. I’m constantly blown away by his choice of beats and how varied yet cohesive the sound is. I think it’s one of two albums that really push hip hop further into a post-Yeezus sound (sorry), which for me is about as exciting as it can get. It’s endlessly rewarding and seeing his shows when he was touring this record was exhilarating. One of my favourite albums ever.

 

I love Summertime and BFT both so much and find them hard to compare because they're so different

Love all his projects but this one remains my favorite. Seeing him at Coachella on this cycle was crazy

Everything he has put out is so good. Prima Donna is probably the one I go back to the least. I actually have nothing of his on wax. That needs to change but wasn’t sure how any of it sounded.

 

Yeah Prima Donna is just fine

 

I like the Prima Donna songs a lot still when they come up on shuffle, I just never go out of my way to listen to it
