Yeah I can't help but think "Counterparts, Heart In Hand or your 10's melodic hardcore band did it better" which feels weird considering they were pioneers. At first I thought the problem was the big gap between releases but then I didn't feel that way with Absent Light at all, and that's an album that still sounds good today.

 

Lamb of God puts out the same album every time

 

Sturm und Drang (sp?) was admittedly a departure for the band; quite a few new and interesting style changes for the band. With this new one though it seems they've switched back to their standard style

 

I'm digging the new Mis Sigs songs a lot. My only complaint is I want more of the talking vocals from Jesse that we got on OMATMH, but that's more of a stylistic touch...plus anything the aforementioned bands (Counterparts, etc) has never done anything for me. Even though they can shred circles around me.

All this talk about Misery Signals probably means I should give them another shot. I think I have Mirrors on CD that I found in a bargain bin 10 or 11 years ago for like two bucks. I don't think I have listened to it since, not because it was bad, but because I think around the end of 2000's I stopped being interested in -core genres that were not grind related, but I'm ready to try things out again. Is that a good record to start with from them?

 

Speaking of shitty metalcore bands, isn't the old Of Mice & Men vocalist also a rapist?

But yeah we all knew Fronz was disgusting but this is atrocious.

 

I think Of Malice is their best but Mirrors is good as well.

I'm team Controller but you can start anywhere. Absent Light was a slight step down but all their records are stellar overall.

 

Of Malice is a great start. Bear in mind they have a different vocalist on the following three albums. They only just went back to Jesse for the new stuff.

 

Also the new MS song got me thinking about this
