Probably the worst part of being any great artist is that your kids still think you're a dork.

    Armageddon is incredible.

  4. @Morrissey I thought you were gonna expand on this, but okay.

In regards to your other topic, I haven't really experienced liking a film from a director I hate (I don't really hate any directors). Rather, I like their films at first, then I get disillusioned or their films just aren't as good later on. This has happened with Cameron Crowe and Jason Reitman.

  7. Thanks!

And also, it's kind of weird that I no longer regard Aronofsky/Refn/von Trier as highly as I used to but I've grown to like Aster/Eggers/Kent in their place.

As someone who worked at regal... knowing how my coworkers didn’t give a shit, and seeing how customers could barely understand simple concepts... it’s going to be a trainwreck lol. Don’t think many people are going to order through apps when 90% of the customers I encountered needed picking your own seat explained to them, and then just sat in the wrong one anyway.

wild to me that soaps are still around tbh. Why would old people / stay at home parents watch them when reality tv exists?

That last generation of women who stayed home (not necessarily by choice) instead of working is what keeps soap operas barely hanging on. They will be gone in a decade.

My sister in law world in that show actually haha

EDIT: nevermind, it's The Young and The Restless. Like I even know the difference.

  16. Yep. I've been streaming more than ever since quarantine.

The market for streaming services is oversaturated. Something like Disney+ can come in late and succeed because of the sheer amount of content that they own, but what did Quibi have? Reviving Reno 911 isn't going to drive people to yet another monthly bill.

I’m sure the conservative British media will have a very reasoned, calm response to the gay American Twilight actress playing one of their most famous royalty ever

I’m surprised the title “Spencer” got studio approval since “Princess Diana” or even just “Diana” would go much further in immediately connecting the dots to the public. It’s like if they called that Jackie Kennedy biopic “Bouvier”

also, i watched the commerative edition of ali last night (free to rent until the end of the month, as is the original. plus, not to be mistaken by the first directors cut) and i found myself enjoying way more than the theatrical cut. took a couple of the fights out, but everything feels so much more fluid, despite only being a few minutes shorter. even adds a dedication of sorts to ali (mann made this sometime after his death.)

i'd honestly recommend it to anyone who only saw the original version, especially if they had issues with it
