Was anyone else a little let down by the renovations in the Silver Lining Sweeney episode of Queer Eye? Was their budget cut? They only fixed up the front patio, some big changes in the living room, and small updates to the bedroom. Surprised they didn't even touch the kitchen, and I guess I thought they would do at least something small to help her husband's accessibility? I know he said it's important to him to be mobile and wants this to be about his wife, but I was still surprised they didn't do anything to help future-proof at least? As a caregiver, any help for him means help and more free time for her

Lmao yeah I'm even more confused by this rebranding than I was already

 

I'm so confused.
All I know is I use someone else's HBO Go password, and I'll be pissed if I get nothing now!

 

HBO Go is if you get HBO through a cable subscription, while HBO Now is standalone iirc. I always thought this distinction was inconsequential. It looks like they're combining the two into "simply" HBO.

 

So now you can have an HBO subscription or a... HBO subscription...?

 

I’ve loved HBO for as long as I can remember and wow are they working as hard as possible to make me get rid of the service. Taking away HBO Go when Max doesn’t have any Roku app yet is just the worst. I’ve been annoyed enough by not being able to really mess around with that despite being subscribed, but figured it didn’t matter much as long as I could still watch all the HBO originals the same way. This release has been such a letdown.

 

Yeah I don't know what the fuck HBO was thinking by launching without Roku and Amazon Fire support. Those make up for the highest share of streaming devices, period haha.

They're clearly asking for too much if they're causing issues with more than one platform.

I have read that people can sideload the .APK file onto their fire stick to get it working, though, since it's just an Android device

 

Honestly I don't know the difference between GO, NOW, or MAX lol

 

Iirc, Go is for cable subscribers and some may not have gotten the expanded catalog of Max. Now is for people who independently subscribe through HBO directly and was automatically upgraded to Max.

So, honestly, I don't think there was ever any difference between Now and Max? Weird shit.

 

Oh, yeah, I got Now a week before Max and was automatically upgraded, but like, the Now site was still there. Could you probably still get Now without getting Max? Idk.

 

I'm just confused by articles saying that HBO Now users will be rebranded to HBO considering they already ditched the HBO Now app when Max launched....

HBO Go still exists in the Google Play store. However, when I got an update to my HBO Now app, it automatically rebranded itself into the HBO Max app.

So... Are these news articles getting GO and NOW mixed up in these announcements? Lmao.
