yeah, to echo others, i dont really see what brothers& adds to the album. or, if it had to be, why it wasnt just part of cardinals

Brothers& doesn't bother me as much as everyone else. Feels like part of cardinals anyways..

That's how I would ultimately recreate NCTH. I think the middle could be a weak point but I like how it goes poppier at the third marks while being strongest and darkest at the start, middle and end.

3-5 are way, way better than 8-11.

I think "Madelyn" and "An American Religion" are both borderline unlistenable, especially after what has already been, at that point, a 30-minute long album. "Teenage Parents" is the last song I love on that record before the closer, so that's a five-song slump where I don't think there's anything special to speak of. In comparison, I think the first seven songs are all pretty great. That album could have been fantastic if it was two or three songs shorter.

I always see hate for Patsy Cline, but like... I adore that song lyrically. The hook isn't the strongest, but I really like what they do in the verses. I Don't Like Who I Was Then is also probably my favorite song on NCTH, and though it doesn't seem to get as much hate as Patsy Cline, it also doesn't seem to get the love it deserves imo. I think it has one of the strongest choruses they've written.

But also, idk, I just like NCTH a lot more than most people here do. A lot of people seemed to love TGG but that album completely fell off for me after like a month. When I revisited it, I found a lot of the songs annoying and the sequencing pretty poor. It just wasn't ever an important record for me like it seemed to be for other people. It was a disappointment for me, because The Upsides and Suburbia were pretty big albums in my life, and the hype around TGG was unreal; seemed everyone who had an advance of that record was hailing it as their best. Maybe I just wasn't in the right place in my life when it came out for it to hit me. For NCTH, though, I had incredibly low expectations, it was almost the exact opposite situation for me. Nearly everyone trashed that album, so I set myself up to hate it and didn't even listen to it until like a week after it came out. I was honestly almost afraid to like it because of how intense and unanimous the hate for that album seemed to be. I'm definitely due for a re-listen of it to see if I still feel the same way, but I'd be surprised if my feelings changed on it much.

Actually just revisting NCTH for the first time in almost a year, and I like it a lot better than I did then. I remember it running together more. On this listen, I've really enjoyed everything except for "Bluest Things" and "Ernest Hemingway."

No chance in hell. Chaser and American Religion are fantastic, and Raindance is pretty good. We Could Die Like This and Dismantling Summer are the worst, most bland songs on the album.

"American Religion" is the worst song I have heard from this band.

I think "I Don't Like Who I Was Back Then" is my least favorite on NCTH. The line "If I could manage not to fuck this up" makes me cringe every time.

I'd happily take Dismantling Summer or We Could Die Like This over AR, Raindance and Madelyn combined. I don't like any of those three. Chaser is fine but still weaker than anything before it.

I like the section of "Raindance" that gets reprised in "I Just Want to Sell out My Funeral," but I don't really care for the rest of the song.

Patsy Cline is one of my all-time favorites from any of their records. As someone else mentioned, I think it to be, lyrically, a masterpiece. But then again, NCTH is my favorite album so I guess I'm biased.

I can't wait to finally go to a show of theirs during this Fall tour and hear a bunch of NCTH songs live.

Patsy Cline has always been one of my favorites from NCTH, maybe only behind cigarettes and glass ceilings. Never understood the overwhelming dislike of the song, or the record as a whole for that matter

I don't mind Patsy Cline at all but I definitely prefer many of the other songs on NCTH. Hemmingway is my least favourite.

So I noticed they added a few events on their Facebook page with Knuckle Puck, Real Friends, Moose Blood, and Seaway. I'm sure they'll officially announce the tour today or tomorrow.
