Yeah it says in a flashback on that link. Hope it's not overdone. Pleasance (RIP) did so well in the role and is my favorite part of the lesser favored Halloween movies. I really didn't like what Zombie did with the character in his films. Technically speaking he didn't die in the first one, but with him being at least 50 in the original film, this would make him roughly 90-100 in the current series so a flashback is the only reasonable option.

Love Ready or Not. Replay value is extremely high.

Society. Parents is good too for what it is but Society is just the better movie, good pacing, great premise and a superb payoff in the third act that’s still one of my favorites in horror. It’s also quite relevant in the age we live in.

Ready Or Not was as fun as I hoped it would be. I’m very glad they didn’t skimp on the violence. The nail through the hand got me good.

Also watched Ready or Not this weekend. P good, and I liked that they didn’t fake us out with the supposed curse at the end.

I feel like they tried to play it both ways. Honestly could've been good if they had gone with the whole thing being a myth and the family having to face that, but everyone exploding was too fun

Finally watched The Loved Ones last night. Really enjoyed it. I think it was hyped up a little too much for me. The torture stuff didn't effect me like most people.

I watched Event Horizon way too young and it was one of those movies where I was like, “This isn’t scary at all,” for most of it but then had an existential crisis for a week after watching and couldn’t think about anything else. That kind of cosmic unending terror just messes with me so badly.

I just finished giving AHS: Apocalypse a shot after highly disliking Roanoke.

Having liked the first three seasons a lot and then a friend telling me about its connections to certain things in said seasons, I had high hopes. But man did they drop the ball with the ending. Had me up until the last 2 episodes.

  20. Enjoyed Roanoke, but boy did Apocalypse bore me to death.

Beginning bored me, but then once they started playing connect the dots with Coven I was with it and enjoying it. Papa Legba coming back with Nan was great. But the Illuminati crap, Sarah Paulson being so many people I couldn’t keep up with, and Michael being a whiny baby antichrist got old. Lange was amazing as per usual though.

Any thoughts on 1984? Apocalypse has me skeptical but from some non spoiler reviews I checked out it looks like mostly positive stuff?

  23. I'm only three episodes in, but it's fun so far! Very campy and feels like one of the older seasons. Surprisingly, I haven't even missed the main cast not returning. Can't speak to the season's overall quality, but it definitely seems worth starting.

ive been meaning to get into AHS but I honestly don’t know if they’re good (or if i would enjoy them at least).

i remember watching a few episodes of season 1 and just not liking it at all. haha, i know the seasons are self contained so idk

Season 1 remains great to me (and imo, their best.) Asylum was also great, but tried to do a little too much towards the end. Coven is great, and probably Jessica Lange's best performance on the show. However, I could not finish Freak Show and never watched any of the others until this year when I checked out Roanoke and Apocalypse. I’ve read not great things about Hotel and Cult.
