Being pro-lockdown in general but also pro-blm protests makes sense. You're just saying that "hey this issue is even more important than the pandemic"

Being pro-lockdown and anti-protest is also something that, while I disagree with, I can understand where people are coming from.

Being anti-lockdown and pro-protest... well at least you're consistent even if your understanding of science is troubling

But these people who are anti-lockdown normally but then when it comes to the protest suddenly they care... how fucking hypocritical can you get? There is no logical consistency to those views. just racism.

the mayor where I live paid himself something like 14 hours a day for 3.5 years or something for the water commissioner position that he wasn’t legally supposed to be doing. Thankfully, our little corner in IL bounced back after some new board members.

Went out and protested today in Chicago. There were A TON of people there (like everywhere else) and it was awesome to see. A ton of young folks there which was great. All there for one reason: Fuck cops, fuck racism, and justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and the many other black folks who have been senselessly killed by cops or people acting as cops.

I've been listening to some of the Kentucky Senate primary debate from last week with McGrath, Broihier, and Booker.

My takeway is that McGrath is basically the most milquetoast you could possibly get. Every answer she gives is just so bland and centrist talking at it's finest. "No, we shouldn't do this, no I don't support that". I mean, I guess it isn't surprising a moderate like her would be appealing given it is Kentucky. She definitely gives me the vibe that she would act as a female Manchin though.

I really like Broihier and Booker, they are both good progressive options. If I lived in Kentucky I'm not sure who I would end up voting for.

Exactly. This and her tweet desperately trying to center ‘women’ in menstration rly reveal that she is speaking from a place of fear that women’s issues won’t be able to be talked about because “we’re erasing sex”
Which obviously is laughable and couldn’t be further from the truth

but honestly she’s way too fucking smart to be that dumb. How can you be missing the point so shockingly bad

Just got back from the protest - it was honestly amazing. Everyone had love for each other. It was all peaceful. Just an amazing experience.
