Yes but in regards to Brees and all these other nfl players that are suddenly on board, it still doesn’t sit right if a statement has to say it’s not about the flag. So what if it is about the flag? That’s a big part of the point. Refusing to honor the flag of a country that oppressed people is how Kaep’s protest started. Any statement that goes out of their way to state it’s not about the flag is preserving the harmful nationalism that is fueling the right.
