my guess at the moment would be that perhaps they'll schedule long homestands for teams next season, to keep how many teams are traveling on a daily basis to as much of a minimum as possible.

I know they've had 3 months off already (and will have all of June off too) but its just crazy to think about 1 season ending and then 3 weeks later training camp for the next season begins

I don't really feel like the quick turn from this season to next is going to be a big deal with the amount of time off most teams will have had + no olympics + this season having been shortened

MLB is the most poorly run league in sports and that’s including NCAA, WWE, My Madden Franchise and the Backyard Baseball game from when we were kids.

That’s a bit much considering mlb actually has a union that mostly has been pretty good

The player's union has nothing to do with how the MLB is run though.

Eh I think NFL might still take the cake though it’s running exactly how Goodell and the owners want it to run. MLB pushing for the crown, though

Anybody else here buy a shit ton of jerseys? Just had a discussion about whether or not it's weird to own jerseys from outside of your favorite team.

I don’t have any non favorite team jerseys anymore, but I don’t see anything wrong with it. There’s plenty of reasons someone could be a fan of a player outside of them being on your favorite team. I did have a Wade and Lebron jersey in middle school despite rooting for only the Cavs

lol i mean, it's a little hyperbolic, but what MLB has done to the sport is criminal. Baseball went from the national game, with the biggest stars to just...a thing that's on TV. How do you have a once-in-a-lifetime player like Mike Trout and have him have less facial recognition than like...the 100th most talented NBA player? How do you see your demos skewed so heavily to the 65+ crowd, and think arguing about batflips and what gifs are allowed on social media is a good idea? Baseball is in for a world of pain in the next 20 years.

Yeah, I also just like the way they look. Just bought Towns, Simmons, Carter, Nash, Ayton, and Lavine with my vacation money instead of a lil vacation and couldn't be more excited for them to arrive.

Didn’t realize you were just talking about marketing, I was just talking about quality of life for the athletes.

i don't personally have a ton of jerseys from teams i dont root for, but its mostly because theyre expensive and id rather spend on teams i root for hah, but i definitely dont think it's weird. the whole notion that you have to root for your geographically located team is super lame anyway, and i think mostly extinct. if you like it, buy it.

I’ve historically been an “only your team” wearer but lately I’ve come to think there are too many beautiful ones out there to limit yourself. plus the steelers don’t have a lot of good merch. Big issue is cost, but I am a frequent hat wearer, could be a good compromise.

I have like 30 jerseys, I went through a phase in college where I would look through ebay for cheap ones and then my brother started giving me ones as gifts. They're fun do whatever you want.
