The games where your initial reaction is, 'they are porting that to switch?' Shouldn't surprise people that the performance has dropped down. Reviews say it's still very playable, it's just a down grade graphically. Who didn't see that coming.

 

Idk I feel like the Witcher 3 port turned out relatively great and it’s a far more ambitious game. The outer worlds is a fucking mess.

 

Yeah, Witcher 3 got a patch that upgraded it big time a while after release. Same can happen with his. Hopefully!

 

my point is not that it is a downgrade, but that benchmarks released last week were blatantly misleading. theres nothing wrong with selling a 540/320p port of a game, but dont say its 1080/720. people who sell things should tell people who buy things what they're buying

 

It’s not even the resolution. Did anyone bother watch the video? Some stuff just straight up isn’t loading in the correct LOD

 

A day-one performance patch is in the plans, lets see what they do

 

Yeah like the issue isn't that it's a downgrade, it's that the performance is poor even though it's a downgrade. I'm fine with a downgrade visually if it means the game performs as it should.

 

The performance drop is what actually makes me less excited to play the game on Switch. The graphics downgrading is expected, and this running on Switch at all is great.

The combat is what worries me. I'll stick with PS4 for now, but I'll keep my eye on it. I love TOW and will probably pick it up again at some point.

But yeah that was rough, especially the part where walking in the first town caused a loading screen to appear. Just thinking about the larger maps like Monarch makes me worried.

Yeah I’m legitimately on the fence because of the volume of criticism but would probably still play it because portability and pick up and play is just way more important to me than textures/visuals. If I don’t play it portable I won’t ever find time to play it so it’s kinda reduced quality or not at all. Shame it doesn’t look a little nicer and the combat lag is potentially an issue but I definitely don’t play games on Switch expecting decent textures.

 

I have some faith in this day one performance patch too

 

I just finished Splatoon 2’s Octo Expansion and wow. Absolutely worth the $20. This is what DLC should always be.

 

I dove back into Dead Cells tonight to do the Rise of the Giant DLC. Was pretty nervous when I finally got to the Giant but I killed him in like 15 seconds without taking a hit. My build was so stacked. So anticlimactic lol.

 

i finished the dlc except for that last boss fight after you collect everything

that cemented that im really bad at shooters

 

Even one the One X the load times in Outer Worlds almost made me stop playing sometimes

Oh right that's today. Guess I am spending money!

 

So good. The only games I don't like are the poker ones because it's so fucking against the player. The card draws are insanely in the CPUs favor.

 

Bunch of resident evils on sale. 4 is my fav, how is it on switch

 

It's as good as on any console. Capcom don't really put the most effort into their remasters. By that I mean it's no better on PS4/Xbox One.
