Sooo i've spent the last decade thinking this band was just some token alt press metal band post scogin. just checking this record out and hollyyyy shit i was wrong.

I listen to Funeral Singer so often and somehow it blows me away literally every time

 

Wrongdoers is where it’s at.

So what's everyone's opinions on Meridional? Definitely my least played of all their albums

 

I personally really like Meridional. I think it's a bit bloated but it's also got some real fine tunes. I think that Anthem is still one of their harder hitting tracks and I love Deathbed Atheist and Falling From The Sky too.

 

Second favorite for me, it’s a little long in the tooth but idk what I’d cut from it if I had to because it all bangs. Felt like a revitalization of the band to me at the time. I’ve got a minor issue with the way the drums sound on that record but no other qualms

 

Meridional is great, probably their 3rd or 4th best depending on the day. Wish that Goose (drums on Wrongdoers and Polar Similar) was in the band for it, feel like he would have made those drum parts pop even more

 

Yeah it used to be my favorite until Wrongdoers came out.

My friend runs a big show promotion around here and he just said they've cancelled all future plans and will refuse to book Norma Jean after this.

we can only hope that this will finally make him acquire some self awareness and realize what a massive dipshit he’s been

 

welp guess Bless the Martyr is now the only NJ album I give a shit about!

 

Not defending Corey, who’s supposedly feeling awful for all this, but his wife said Cory absolutely had not seen it and when it was brought up he immediately deleted it. Even before this blew up he said “dude that is NOT what you thought.”

Either way - he should take a long break off Twitter and think more about what he says/does. It’s disappointing to see stuff like this.
