Yeah for anyone posting on Instagram for Blackout Tuesday, remove the BLM hashtags so as not to clog up the platform, that way it won't interfere with information that needs to get out there.

 

Just posted about that on Instagram. Feel like it might be too late, at least until enough people get those posts out of their system & we get past it, but hopefully this critique trends enough to clear things up a little faster.

 

Dumb question but can someone explain the intent/origin for blackout Tuesday? I’m not on FB and not seeing a ton of explanation on IG other than to stop using the hashtag with it

RE: grindr/dating apps. You could make the argument that minorities wanting to filter out white people or find people of similar cultural/racial identities to them should be able to. But in practice I'm sure it's a lot of white people using it to tailor thier dating app to thier racist preferences.
