if the GOP elites acknowledges that Biden ultimately isn't that dangerous as long as they keep the senate, if they abandon Trump now and put their support behind Biden does that help or hurt their senate chances?

Yeah it'll piss off their voting base. But that voting base is still gonna show up to support Trump. And still gonna vote for the republicans over the other guys. So I think it might help? But I donno...

Durkan needs to go. Replace her with Herbold or Gonzalez. Then as their first act of mayor, they can fire Carmen Best.

From everything I’ve seen Portland remained peaceful and people are going home for the night,
Still hearing helicopters overhead and some fireworks though

 

The photos of how packed Pioneer Square was tonight make me so fucking proud

 

The Seattle demonstration shown is within shouting distance from my apartment. The whole neighborhood still reeks of tear gas. Durkan and Best need to be shown the door.

 

Our news media is so overwhelmed at this point that they're not even breaking into their pre-recorded program to talk about something like this, which would be major news any other time.

 

I mean plenty of innocent protesters have been shot by rubber bullets and had to be taken to the hospital. Not really sure why a couple of pigs getting a bit of justice in return is particularly news worthy.
