King County had been doing really well with our coronavirus case counts, getting very close to the point where we'd be allowed to start opening stuff up, but then had a huge spike in new cases today This shit is never gonna end is it?

so my roommate just got home from the 35W bridge gathering. apparently the intention was to return all 5,000 protesters to U.S. Bank Stadium and sit it out through the night.

the tanker dispersed the crowd so much that organizers told people to find their safest way home before curfew.

 

Yeah lots of cars around the twin cities without plates this week.

Even if I trusted msm to cover the very real narrative of police attacking protesters without cause, I wouldn’t expect anyone who isn’t already convinced that protesters deserved it to change their tune. We are too fucked.

 

CNN is doing that I Vant Breathe thing right now and the timeline they just did going into most of the controversial cases since Trayvon was a rough watch honestly.

 

I had also seen lots of posts about this specific protest on Socials, and then more following saying it wasn’t legitimate, which is why I didn’t attend.

 

yeah I was seeing stuff saying that it was organized by people out of the state? at least the protest earlier that started at US bank

I've been going insane over what's going on right now with everything. (As I'm sure everyone is) We've seen the police do horrible traumatizing things to protestors...things I will never forget seeing. I knew it was bad but this has changed me in a way I don't think I can come back from. This is what I'm wrestling with and I don't know how I feel about it- I'm pretty much on board with #acab but something that I keep thinking about is the children of policemen and women that arent trying to instigate anything and respecting the public protest (some even kneeling and walking along in the protests...but at the same time I know that mothers, father's, and children have been taken away from POC for years so is it like all is fair in love and war? What's everyone's opinion on this? Also, I wonder if the officers were just trying to appease protestors and not so much marching in solidarity with them. I don't even know what to think anymore.

 

Got a 6pm curfew alert at 5:30 in LA while I was trying to get food. Store closed on me, tried calling a friend but I wasn’t able to make any voice calls! Restarting my phone seemed to fix it. Not to mention our internet went down. Not sure if these are related to what’s going on but it’s so not cool to impose curfews with less than an hour notice.

Edit: not to mention Santa Monica got a 4pm curfew notice at 3:45
