It’s a liability issue. Media/newspapers have to use “alleged” until the person is found guilty in a court of law. Even if there’s video evidence. If he’s acquitted, he could sue any outlet that labeled him a murderer. It’s shitty but it’s how media avoids lawsuits in reporting ongoing cases.

 

Yeah in Minnesota I’m pretty sure they were already trying to take measures to end the quarantine before this happened. Like cancel mass events like concerts and the fair but keep the day-to-day the same.

 

I am definitely worried about that. Thousands of people gathering, many in places that have been hit hard by COVID. I said this yesterday and the good thing is that a majority of people seem to be wearing masks, but it is still definitely concerning seeing so many people so close together.

In a perfect world these protests could wait until after a pandemic, but we are far from perfect and fighting for justice cannot wait. I really am torn on seeing all this though. Part of me wants to say stop with these huge gatherings a lot of people may end up dying from another outbreak, but then I think, this could be a turning point in achieving justice. Crazy time we are in

 

Apparently some dumb white kid started shit in Pittsburgh. *sigh*

 

If I see another tweet with a video of a cop being polite I’m gonna lose it. Stop it.

 

TMI alert: On our road trip, Minneapolis was our next destination as we left from the Chicago area to explore Milwaukee and move on to minnesota. It timed out so that we were getting to the Wisconsin/Minnesota border at night, so we had to decide if we were gonna get a hotel on the wisconsin or minnesota side of the river. Since this was our honeymoon and we were trying to get a brewery in every state we hit, a secondary goal was, well, doing it in every state possible. So literally most of the decision on where we were staying that night was: which state are we more likely to visit and stay in in the future and thus could always cross it off the list later?

We stayed at a hotel in the Hudson Wisconsin area that night lol.

 

CNN was just live in Chicago and the aerial cam showed the protestors and cops getting into it...3 cops had a dude on the ground and the crowd came in, threw the cops off of him, and carried him away before he could get arrested.

What about cops telling other cops to shut the fuck up?

 

Unless there’s a video of a cop walking off the job and quitting then no. They can be polite or empathetic or keep their buddies in check or lower their guns or whatever but if they’re still a cop at the end of the video then it doesn’t matter
