what did people think about Assailants when it came out? I didn’t really dive into their music until PIG came out

i don't have any best of lists i made but i recently made a nostalgic 2000s mix on spotify. it doesn't have everything but i've been re-listening to so many records recently i had to make a list. the mix is here: nostalgic daydreams. it made me realise how massive 2005 was for music.

holy shit that opening track on The Red Tree "Don't Ever Tell Locke What He Can't Do" was one of the dopest opening tracks I had ever heard at that point. It his so hard and was fantastic.

I freaking loooooved that Black Lab - See the Sun album. I was super pumped they did a proper recording of Circus Lights on it, too.

taking a closer look, wondering why rookie of the year's goodnight moon was passed up for the 2006 list.

I instantly loved it, it held up to the level of the previous EP etc., I think the reception was vastly positive, but now I'm not sure - I thought albums like "Everything In Transit" were worshipped on the site (one of ma favs for sure), but now I see it's not even up there in TOPs on most of the lists ;d ;d

What a cool playlist, thanks! ;D also, weird seeing how many of these are not on Spotify anymore and got greyed out.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it

See that was my Senior year in HS and even though it's a nostalgic time for me there's no doubt that year was just full of great rock/pop punk records regardless

I was extremely into that band for a few years. I’ve kind of lost track of them, but I still love that album. “Circus Lights” is so, so great.

2005 and 2006 were wild years in music. I still remember them fondly and a lot of those albums continue to be spinned today.

thanks. i know that i can listen to all the songs on the list so i'm not sure why they're greyed out on your end.

oh I get it, it's possibly because of some distribution restrictions or something, I live in Poland and maybe we just don't have some of the albums from those days, which I thought were missing on Spotify. To give you an example, the whole Cartel discography is showing here for me as of now, but not "Chroma".

Sure, all those important albums I already bought a long time ago on CD or have it downloaded, to be honest I would never need streaming platforms to alter my habits, though I'm starting to get too comfortable with using it too. Anyway the only thing that sucks is that I could come up with a themed playlist and don't have some of the subjects I imagined to include - being weird as I am it actually can bring some distress. But in the end it's alright.

The Joyce Manor album from 2012 should be "Of All Things I Will Soon Grow Tired"
