I'm curious what others thoughts are on Chauvin's murder of Reyes that Klobuchar failed to prosecute.

Apparently the reason for the shooting was because he pointed a sawed off shot gun at them. That seems like a different situation to me and sounds more like self defense? Is the outrage that we can't trust whether or not he did have the gun vs it being planted? Or it could've been self defense on Reyes' part? I struggle with what the right thing to do is in that situation

Okay good good. I'm trying to verify all twitter stuff going forward is all. That felt like something no same politician would allow to follow

 

It was something about how the amount of money they actually spent on bail last year was relatively low compared to "operational costs". But I've been digging and enough reputable people seem to be vouching for them and they're even encouraging people to donate to other orgs in lieu of how many donations they've received, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on being a grift for now

 

Looks like there is a demonstration happening in Boston right now, seems peaceful right now.

Local Atlanta news has been covering a standoff with what I believe? is a different group than the ones posted above and the police in the street in front of CNN Center for the last hour.

Were reports APD gave them 3 minutes to disperse but the chief came on tv and disputed that. She said there is no traffic, the city is largely closed and they are remaining peaceful so no action will be taken as of now. Went on to say something to the effect of these people are hurting and want to be heard so we will allow them to do that.

Who knows if it was sincere or just a bit of a PR move but I was genuinely surprised to hear it. A loud “fuck the police” chant broke out behind her so they cut away before she was finished speaking.

Edit: the protestors have moved away from the line of police and are currently spray painting the large CNN sign out front of the building lol
