Fuck, this Gaga record is meant to be experienced in a packed club. Seems like a return to Fame-era dance pop, but a majority of the lyrics are very dark and directly address mental health. 911 and Replay are both standouts.

Tchami, Skrillex, Madeon, Axwell v Ingrosso, and BURNS all gave her some fantastic beats.

 

went to go listen to the new Hockey Dad but on Spotify their new release today is a live album and not Brain Candy

 

FYI in case anyone watches Schitt's Creek, Noah Reid is the actor who plays Patrick

 

Hockey Dad release got pushed to July 31st.

 

Worth noting that while this release was planned months ago, this is a posthumous release as she passed away a couple weeks ago

Also excited about the new Mansions LP coming next month. The new single is great.

 

Wow. This breaks my heart, I follow her on IG and I had no idea.

 

Realized that almost my entire list of favorite releases from this year so far are from white artists, so I'm making it a point to only listen to/support new music from Artists of Color this week.

I'm open to any and all recommendations. The few POC releases on my list so far are NNAMDï, Flying Lotus, and Freddie Gibbs.

 

I highly recommend everyone check out the new Magic Island record if you like RX Bandits, My Morning Jacket, Pinback, Smashing Pumpkins. My friend produced it and it's one hell of a record for summer.
