Christian Lee Hutson - Beginners (May 29, 2020) Album

Starting a thread for his upcoming album. If you haven’t listened, he’s very good. Friends with Phoebe Bridgers (who produced the new song linked below), opened the Better Oblivion Community Center Tour, opened for Julia Jacklin in the US, very funny on stage.

"Northsiders" destroyed me, whenever he put that single out early last year. It's so beautiful. I've been eagerly awaiting this album since then.

This new single didn't hit me quite as hard, but still got my heart strings going quite a bit.

I feel like this album is going to wreck me.

Okay, "Lose this number" officially destroys me as much as "northsiders" does....I just needed a few more listens with it.

Wow, wow, wow. I'm so excited for this! This Spring is going to be insane for music.

At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being my AOTY. These two songs are insanely well-written and beautiful.

 

these songs are fantastic. I get such strong Elliott Smith vibes from Northsiders.
I'm gonna love this album for sure.

just stumbled upon him (thank you Apple Music Chill Mix) and my word this is stunning

 

man, he's 3/3 now... everyone coming out of that "phoebe bridgers collective" is insanely talented.

 

Yup. 3/3 for me too. Cannot wait for this.

 

Also, just an FYI, he has multiple older albums from a few years ago. He played a few times in my college town which is how I originally discovered him (before he became friends with Phoebe), and those albums are also good.

 

Who else is considered part of that collective?

 

Ethan Gruska and Harrison Whitford are two others I would consider part of the collective.

also this kid named charlie hickey seems to roam close with marshall, phoebe's drummer and he doesn't have a lot out yet but i love it.
