This is amazing news. I wonder if they'll self produce it...isn't Joey doing production/mixing now?

Given the way they’ve tended to roll out news since their comeback, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are further along in the process than they let on.

I'm never more sure something is happening than I am when Stephen Christian says he isn't sure if something is happening

Lowborn goes head-to-head w/ Cities for my favorite Anberlin album. Hope they put out some more songs that feel like "Stranger Ways" & "Armageddon."

It was obvious these guys would record and tour again. Hopefully it doesn’t interrupt any Acceptance stuff.

And I’m never more sure that something isn’t happening at a specific time than when Stephen Christian says it’s happening at that time.

Yes! Let's get the proper follow up to Vital :)

I would also love if they take a big part of what Stephen did on the latest A&B record (Synth heavy with massive choruses) and used it on the new record.

looking back at Lowborn now, i think they were on the verge of something great with their sound. Vital is my favorite album of theirs, and the bonus tracks on Devotion were a precursor to some of what happened on that album. Lowborn wasn't perfect, but it was too notch with it's experimentation. if they made an album with that kind of experimentation, the energy and songwriting of Vital, and the maturity of DITW, it could be their best album to date.

Also with them all working alone and with their own separate producers probably didnt help with the overall cohesion and sound of the record.

Would be interesting if, looking back on the creation of Lowborn, they were candid about the decision to use different producers...I suspect not everyone was 100% on board for doing that album and that was the compromise...I dunno. Just speculation. Maybe they've already been candid and I'm forgetting.

I honestly never felt the Vital hype. There were a handful of songs I listened to a lot for a year after it came out, but it's at best my 4th favorite album of theirs.

Lowborn was pretty dope for what it was. Gonna give the AB record a spin tomorrow with all this heavy synth and huge chorus chatter lol

Vital was mostly big for me because I really disliked Dark and wasn't a huge fan of NS so it was a big comeback album for me. Still doesn't really stack up against NTFP or Cities but I think it's very good.

  24. awakeohsleeper

    I do not exist.

I consider Vital on par with Cities, with Lowborn and DITW just below them. NTFP and New Surrender are brilliant and then Blueprints is kind of a classic debut that I don't really need to listen to because everything else is far superior.

I think at this point Stranger Ways, Dismantle.Repair and (*fin) are my favourite songs.

I'm really excited to see where they go on this album. I feel like they were really getting into the groove of experimenting more with their sound on Devotion and Lowborn, so it would be interesting to see if they continue on that sort of electronic/ ethereal tinged rock sound or if they'll head in a new direction.

Lowborn has some of my favourite sounding songs from them, especially Stranger Ways. I also think Lowborn has some of their best songwriting, probably only bested by Dark.
