"and the only way to trick yourself into not feeling insane
are the negative impulses that you struggle to restrain
you know that nothing’s real but you sink your hooks into mistakes anyway
and you’re paralyzed by the how’s and why’s because people never change"

"Ohio Tpke" is the best closer he's had since "Felt Just Like Vacation" imo

never heard his music or his name before (well, maybe the name but never the music for sure) and this was an awesome find.

"Scram!" is my favorite after three listens

all of them are so good. Vacation is my favourite because it takes you on such a journey, and the sonic progression from where they started is stunning. Scrambles and Adults are still absolutely full of bangers - "25" and "All Ages Shows" are in the conversation for best songs he's ever written

Adults is my favorite release by him but yeah Vacation is his opus. I urge everyone to go back through all of BTMI. They're incredible through and through. Bits of genius on every single record, as abrasive as the first few are. I really do think he's lost a bit of magic after the switch to his real name

Is BTMI the actual name or is that an acronym for something

worth reminding everyone (not that it matters since streaming services exist now) that all of his records are free on QuoteUnquote! No excuses not to go back to his early stuff if you like this or Worry!

Scrambles will probably always be my favorite but I love everything he’s ever put out. Best songwriter of our generation.

Three Cheers For Disappointment by ASOB followed by Get Warmer by BTMI are my favorites but it’s all great. The solo albums haven’t hit me the same way that ASOB and BTMI did but that is probably a me problem.

If you consider HELLLLHOOOOLE through Perfect Sound Whatever as one long song (because you can't listen to any part of that sequence as a standalone song), then that's his best closer

Perfect always takes so long, because it don't exist... IT DOESN'T EXISTTTTTT

Also just listened to Adults since the first (and probably only) time I listened to it and yeah I’ve been sleeping. It slaps.
