I thought I didn't like Madonna for a very long time. I didn't accomplish shit during that time.

(Tbh it was actually that I loved a bunch of Madonna songs I didn't realize were Madonna)

I would agree with this if The Electric Lady and Dirty Computer switched chronologically. Haha

Not sure I agree about Janelle Monae. Is The ArchAndroid considered her actual debut? If so, that's one of the best of all time (perhaps not an unpopular opinion lol). I didn't find Electric Lady that compelling but Dirty Computer brought me back on board.

I also think ArchAndroid is her best. Also it's awesome to me that she's a Bay Boy Records artist lol

ArchAndroid is fucking incredible and Dirty Computer is really great too. Could never really get into Electric Lady

Arch and Electric are both great, no doubt, but they REALLY suffer from length, there's multiple songs that would be easy to cut from both. Dirty Computer finally realized that issue and fixed it

I would not cut a moment off The Electric Lady, even the skits. And I usually hate skits. I honestly think it's one of the all-time-great concept records.

Try as I might to get them to click with me, I just can't do it.

    Obituary are boring as fuck.

Something about some of Janelle’s lyrics are so cheesy for me. But Dirty Computer is otherwise a fantastic record.

I can get down with the vocals but the instrumentation of nearly every record is just so meandering and hazy and unengaging. Obituary's music is the auditory equivalent of waking up from a nap that lasted far too long leaving you groggy, disoriented and pissed off as shit.

Are U2 far more popular in the states than they are over here in the UK? Because I always find they’re taken very seriously over there but are the butt of many a joke over here.

Oh yeah, and the probable unpopular opinion is U2 are offensively boring.

In my experience they’re one of those bands that people like to mock because it seems like the cool thing to do. Sure Bono can rub people the wrong way and I certainly don’t like everything they’ve released but they have some classic records and songs. Think I’ll give War a spin tonight.
