Just go listen to Brother's Blood. If that doesn't sell you, then maybe Kevin Devine just isn't for you. And that's OKAY.

Ugh the Masquerade is just such a turn off for me. I hate that place. However, I have seen numerous fantastic shows there, I just dread it every time. Thank god they are demolishing that place and building a new one. December is supposed to be the last month of shows at that location.

Why don't you like it? I went there to see Pierce the Veil with my girlfriend a couple months ago and thought it was cool. Maybe a little dark in there though.

It's normally way too crowded. Plus there's no AC in there so it's just a bunch of sweaty ass dudes pushing each other around.

Huh, I didn't notice there was no AC. Me and her kind of stayed towards the back so we weren't in the crowd so I guess I didn't notice that either. Maybe it's good I'm from Charlotte so I won't be going up there much, if ever again.

I hate a lot about The Masquerade, but yeah, I have seen a number of great shows there. The Heaven stage has had bad sound a lot of the time I've been there; the stage in Hell is nearly impossible to see if you're not in the first few rows; Purgatory is pretty alright, but then you have those damn beams right in the middle of the sight-lines. It has personality though. I get why it's such a fixture and local legend, but I just prefer most other places in Atlanta. Yet, I'll be at the Kevin show, for sure.

The new place sounds great, I'll say that. I'm pretty excited to see it.

Calling it now: the song with "I was alive back then" could very well become my favorite KD song. The lyrics he posted a while back for that song are incredible.

I legitimately love the Masquerade. My first real show was at the Masq, most shows I go to are at the Masq, and the last three years of me going to shows mostly have it as a backdrop in my memory. Developmentally it is really important to me, and it's not perfect, but I don't have a ton of other venues to compare it to anyway. The place is practically a second home for me, and I am so bummed that location is going away. Wrecking Ball is my ceremonial good bye, but I'm glad I will get to say goodbye with a KD show.
