maybe I’m weird but if I hate half an album I won’t ever listen to the half I do like haha. probably because I’m a full album listener but I never really save songs I liked from albums I didn’t

chorus of "Nothing Revealed / Everything Denied" levitated me

I don’t think the two albums connect all that well tbh. So much for sister lps

Same. In theory, this works well. You can use the half you do like for homemade playlists.

that's what I love about this band, I remember hearing mine for the first time and thinking that it kinda sucks

and i still think it kinda sucks, but that's cool that other people dig it. I like just about everything on Notes and think it's their most solid album so far, but it's cool that other people aren't feeling it. Lots of breadth in their discography

You’re not doing a great job of defending the album here, sorry to say. If you’re trying to contextualize the bands stays with the music they’re making, sure that’s interesting to you. What Jason and other posters are saying is that sure, what they’re doing is interesting, but it’s not done well enough to evoke the emotional response they’re known for, and other people are doing the stuff their doing better. The 1975s strong suit was never doing these things better, it was melding the “other” with them and succeeding. They didn’t do that as well here as other albums.

I don’t personally agree, but I can respect that. Feel free to correct me if I’m misunderstanding!!

Oh we're a scene. Whatever that means.

So fucking good. I disagree. This is getting a huge emotional response out of me. Its just more happiness than the sadness on previous albums.

I think I just disagree, but that’s of course okay. I’m here for the discourse. And I’m admittedly too stoned to be typing so much.

  18. I was referring to the entirety of the statement, “something special,” and was not trying to spend time arguing who is the biggest artist to release a ‘playlist’ like album (the answer is Drake).

Lol also isn't playlist just an updated word for mixtape? If so then yeah, huge artists have been doing that for a while

  22. Anyone have credits on the album yet? I can’t tell if those are fake or not and refuse to ask my wife cause if they’re fake she’s gonna make fun of the band and I need more time with the album before that happens :crylaugh:

Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America is something really special. I have really missed Bright Eyes, so this is filling that in.
