It's coming this year. I honestly can't believe so many people got worked up over placeholder dates.

 

December 31, 2020 is a more believable placeholder date than May 7, 2021

Guys! After a long, 8-month wait, today is finally here!

Just 12 months to go!!

 

Did this really get delayed a week before release and there hasn’t been any communication about it at all press wise?

He’s covering Time of Your Life by Green Day on Zoom right now!

 

Begs the question of when this album will drop then. Presumably they're not punting it to May next year.

 

If they delay this another year just so it comes out near the tour....that's really dumb

 

It's kinda wild they're delaying this to potentially next year (the album) when their last two albums failed to chart to even the top 15 on Billboard...

But their surprise release charted at #5

 

I’m willing to bet this thing comes out by September

 

No way Weezer delay an album by a year just to come out around a Tour. They don’t really play stacks of new stuff live, do they? People ain’t going to see them for their new songs! (I love most of Weeezers recent output so I don’t mean that in a bad way)

Rivers said somewhere (can't recall) Hella Mega will be a Greatest Hits set. But then again so is every tour

 

They’ll definitely only play The End of the Game live, if they play anything from recent albums at all

 

Maybe they’ll release this soon with OK Human to coincide with the tour next summer? I could use a new Weezer album. Working my way through a discography listen.

Reason why it’s possible they’d delay to next year is that this is a big time tour and OK Human isn’t that kind of record. This one is.

 

Let's be honest. Pushing it a year would be a very "Weezer" thing to do.

 

You're right gotta a little antsy haha. All these delays for hyped-up finished albums......

 

The only reason they made this album was to have a stadium rock album for a stadium tour, so pushing it a year isn't totally unreasonable.
