NBA2k20 is about to be 3 bucks on switch soon in USA, i've seen it in various other countries on sale for 3 bucks

I travel around the world year-round to check out different eshop deals

 

Used some gold coins so I got cosmic star heroine for £0.74 lol

 

From what I remember about Cosmic Star Heroine it's the type of RPG that involves strategy with even random battle encounters, not just a button mashing fest like old school JRPGS. Your HP will refresh after every battle and the combat system was decently intricate and had a lot of variety.

 

i would watch a youtube vlog of Dan just touring around the world asking people how much NBA 2K20 is in their eshop region

 

im so unfamiliar with the series i typed in NBA20K and then went back to the previous posts just to check if i got it wrong

Pyre is basketball-ish and i like it a lot

 

i love doing the gm mode in 2k, but the game is so fucking heavy.

how is it?

 

I've played an hour I think. It's very linear.

The combat is pretty straightforward, but there is some level of depth. Most abilities can only be used once (and then there's a refresh action that resets that), so you have play around with buffs/debuffs/weaknesses to maximize them. Also every fixed amount of turns one of your characters gets a double damage which adds another layer of depth. Sequencing is very important. I wouldn't say it's difficult (I did the 3rd difficulty level) but you can definitely die if you get careless. Although the one time that I did it just restarted me back to the start of the match so it's not punishing at all which I like.

The story is okay, somewhere in the middle didn't find it boring but wasn't too invested either. I actually found myself breezing through the maps, and it never really felt like I missed much. I actually appreciate how fast the game is in terms of animations/loading/movement. Feels like I'm replaying an old GBA game or something haha.

For that price it's a no brainer if any of the things I said interested you at all haha. I don't know if I'll get back to it soon (only because I got hooked back on to Slay the Spire), but yeah this is a good game.

 

I just found out these are the same devs who did Cthulhu Saves the World, and Breath of Death. Ok I like them even more now.

That game is totally not what I was expecting at all. I thought it was like a 101 games megapack type thing
