I have such a paralleled relationship with both bands.

 

Yeah, it's been a fun way to promote the album while we all can't go outside and I love the extra perspective given to the creation of the tracks. It's a good way to create social media buzz that normally would have been made by people tweeting live videos etc (Obviously they can't tour in the pandemic).

Personally, I'm looking forward to the album, but I haven't been as desperate to hear it as the last two albums. That may change over the next few days if it doesn't leak over the weekend.

 

I agree they are not all that similar, and I do like both, but fun fact: they actually played a show together along with Catfish and the Bottleman in 2019.

 

Also I am desperate for a leak

 

In Dallas, right? I really wanted to go to that one because of the lineup. I went to a few of the 1975's shows on that little mini tour and it was IDKHow for most of them with some other random radio show lineups

2/14 is straight up Chocolate imitator. But that band has definitely found its own sound, which I’m thankful for.

Really not into the band camino, the two vocalists both have very different voices and i dislike both voices for different reasons, i don't think they compliment each other well either

 

I love The 1975 but I don’t listen to any of their imitators lol

 

Yeah I mostly listen to tryhard and that was definitely more of their own sound

 

I think that’s actually CAMINO’s strongest quality and what keeps me coming back to their tracks. They’ve got dueling vocalists with such distinctive voices, both with massive tone. Their EP/album tryhard absolutely shreds imo. But to back up others’ points, they’ve come a long way and definitely honed in their sound. Hopefully still have a good future ahead of them post losing a member.

tryhard is just fantastic. The production quality, guitar effects, and fun songwriting all combine well for a good time.

 

I thought Tryhard was just okay. I’ve been a fan since the get. I like the songs enough but there’s other, more varied stuff by them I enjoy as well. They definitely seem to have come into their own and know the type of band/sound they want now. Indie darlings no more lol

 

the band camino is fantastic. they’re definitely finding their own sound and have a great future.

 

Maybe there should be a thread dedicated to “bands kinda like The 1975,” since y’all love talking about that so much sometimes, lol.

Fuck them lol they release a single for a “new album” a year and two months ago - then fall off the face of the earth with no updates and ignore concerned fans who reach out.

 

Hate waking up and knowing that if it were too leak, it would probably be at night and not middle of the day lol so bad

 

I really think we are gonna see this thing soon.
