Thankfully the second wave of Ben Affleck was short.

 

The third wave is coming with Deep Water.

 

I’ve been watching erotic thrillers for the past month and I could not be more onboard with Adrian Lyne returning after 17 years with a movie that was so hot it made Affleck and De Armas into a couple.

I can’t imagine myself ever willingly watching something any Affleck is involved in ever again.

I wonder why Terrence Malick chose him for To the Wonder. The man makes some weird casting choices.

 

i feel the same about Bale and Gosling in the following two

 

John Travolta showing up for two minutes as a general in The Thin Red Line is the weirdest one.

 

I found Gosling a refreshingly warm screen presence in Song to Song.

 

Finally watched there will be blood for the first time. Yes, it is good.

 

It’s so good.

 

So many of these choices make me incredibly happy.

I have no good reason for taking this long to watch it.

 

Yeah, that on both lists is perfect.

 

Yeah, those lists rule. Just seem like two dudes who love movies and don’t give a shit what people think.

 

I can get behind Siskel’s list. never heard of his #10, though.

 

I think my favorite aspect is simply Babe and Happiness on the same list.

 

Life is Beautiful and Simon Birch are really painful picks. They were always reliably middlebrow, though.

 

Watched Moneyball again last night and I just love it. Found it very comforting in these trying times.

 

It’s a 10/10 movie
