i was at a midnight showing of john wick a year ago and we all had wait almost an entire hour later because ethan hawke was a guest speaker for a special screening of one of his films sometime before that. somehow, that wasn't a dealbreaker for everyone else

for anyone looking past the first john wick: the dogs are gonna be okay in the sequels. john's at least

 

Man, my gf is going through some shit tonight. I’m so terrible at talking to people about serious issues like death cause I’ve used comedy as a way to combat serious issues for my whole life. I wish I could feel a little more sometimes. It’s hard to know what to say. I’ve grown this thick cynical skin which is a blessing and a curse.

I'm terrible at talking to people about serious issues. My friend called me a couple weeks ago because her cousin was diagnosed with cancer and was expected to pass soon and all I could think to do was listen and talk about something else

 

Sometimes I’m good at it but in other scenarios I don’t know anything. A friend of mine had a pretty unspeakable tragedy last month and I spent weeks trying to figure out what to say.

 

just tell her the kinds of things you would like her to say to you if you were in her shoes. you'll do fine. godspeed
