I'm really loving this. His voice sounds very different. I guess that makes sense considering the last K album is was into was MMhmm

 

I just looked up the lyrics to "Man" after zeroing in on the refrain and was like "wow, Matty T is talking about some dark stuff..." Until I remembered that the rest of the song is talking about time moving.

Duh, Lish. Duh.

Okay. I pretty much loved this album from the get go. But it's been awhile since I've heard an album that's improved so much on repeat listens. 16 tracks is hard to digest no matter how good the album is, but now that I can pick apart each song, I honestly can't find a single thing I don't like about the album (except maybe the flow, which I personally think is fixed with the vinyl track list). This might end up being my AOTY. It's pretty surreal since I didn't even consider Collapsible Lung for my top 30 the year it released.

 

I thought that part was interesting. I also liked the part where Hoopes was explaining the CD issues, and Matt T, had no idea about anything pertaining to CDs.

Not quite what you're wanting, but that interview here on Chorus gives some good insight to what's going on.

This is neat, and makes me want to buy a CD.

 

That was a great interview. I also found interesting the question about the song "God" and being part of the CCM scene. Good guys.

 

Empty House & Heartache have been my early favorites so far from the record.

 

Haven't seen flower get much love. What a beautiful song.

 

'Flower' is probably my second favorite behind 'Man'. The harmonies and vocal layering really push it to the next level.

 

The ambient harmonies give me a Beach Boys vibe.

Yeah, I was pretty happy to see that they posted CDs finally. haha

 

They were on the Bad Christian podcast, was pretty interesting. They said a few things about Collapsible Lung.

 

Man I was so disappointed in that interview. The BC guys talked way too much and then when the Matts finally could start talking the BC guys would interrupt and talk over them.

Some interesting stuff but I wanted to hear more about this album and just where they are in life but it was mostly Emery reminiscing about old tour stories. Haha

Btw I'm a regular of that podcast but this was just a disappointing interview for me.

 

those are the worst kind of interviews, haha.

 

I felt the exact same way listening to it...so many interruptions! But I appreciated how positive both the Matt's were in the little time they did get to talk.

 

What did they say about CL? I watched it but didn't hear anything on it. Though, they didn't talk too much about Relient k as a whole I don't think.

 

All I got out of that interview was that the original "Thiessen" was most likely actual coffee
